1. Introduction
Welcome to Niramaya Family and Child Counselling Centre. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the website niramayacounselling.com and the counselling services provided by Niramaya Family and Child Counselling Centre ("Niramaya," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing our website, booking an appointment, or using our counselling services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our website or services.

Niramaya provides professional counselling services — in-person at our Kerala facility and online to clients across India and globally — for individuals, couples, families, and children.
3. Scope of Services
3.1 Services Offered: Individual counselling (adults & children), family counselling, child and adolescent counselling, couples counselling, online counselling, and in-person sessions.
3.2 Delivery: In-person sessions are held at our Angamaly centre. Online sessions are delivered through secure, encrypted video platforms in English and Malayalam, subject to counsellor availability.
3.3 Jurisdictional Notice: We accept international clients for online counselling. The counselling relationship is governed by Indian law. Clients outside India must verify that receiving online counselling from India is permissible under their local laws.
4. Client Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old, or if a minor, accessing services with parental/guardian consent.
- All information provided during registration, intake, and sessions must be accurate and truthful.
- Services are voluntary and for legitimate therapeutic purposes.
5. Appointments and Scheduling
5.1 Booking: Via website, email (info@niramayacounselling.com), or phone (+91 9605805138). Subject to counsellor availability.
5.2 Confirmation: A session is confirmed only upon receipt of a confirmation communication from Niramaya.
5.3 Duration: Standard sessions are 50–60 minutes, adjustable based on therapeutic needs.
6. Fees and Payment
6.1 Fee Structure: Communicated prior to the first session. Fees may be revised with prior notice.
6.2 Payment: Due at booking or before each session. Accepted via bank transfer, UPI, or other specified methods. All fees are non-transferable.
6.3 Currency: Quoted in INR unless otherwise specified.
6.4 Receipts: Provided for all transactions.
7. Cancellation and Rescheduling
7.1 Client Cancellation: Minimum 24 hours' notice required. Less than 24 hours may incur a 50% cancellation fee. No-shows are charged the full session fee.
7.2 Niramaya Cancellation: We may cancel due to counsellor unavailability or emergency. We will offer an alternative appointment at no extra cost.
7.3 Late Arrival: Sessions end at the scheduled time regardless of late arrival. Full fee applies.
8. Online Counselling Terms
8.1 Technology: Clients must have a stable internet connection, a device with camera and microphone, and a private, confidential space.
8.2 Security: We use encrypted platforms but cannot guarantee absolute security against third-party access beyond our control.
8.3 Recording: Recording sessions by the client is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
8.4 Geographic Limits: Clients are responsible for verifying local laws regarding receiving online counselling from India.
9. Confidentiality and Privacy
9.1 Commitment: All client information and session content is kept strictly confidential under Indian law and professional ethical standards.
9.2 Limits to Confidentiality: Disclosure may occur without consent when:
- There is credible risk of harm to the client or another person
- There is suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult
- Required by a court of law or legal authority
- Required to prevent the spread of certain communicable diseases

10. Client Rights and Responsibilities
10.1 Rights: To receive professional, ethical treatment; to know the counsellor's qualifications; to ask questions; to withdraw at any time; to access records as permitted by law; to file a complaint.
10.2 Responsibilities: To provide honest information; to attend sessions on time; to give adequate cancellation notice; to maintain a private environment for online sessions; to not attend under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed substances; to communicate concerns about the process.
12. Professional Ethics
12.1 Therapeutic Relationship: Strictly professional. Romantic or inappropriate conduct is prohibited.
12.2 Scope of Practice: Counselling is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, psychiatric treatment, or legal advice. Referrals will be provided when needed.
12.3 Referral: If services beyond our scope are required, the counsellor may recommend termination with appropriate referrals.
13. Intellectual Property
All content on niramayacounselling.com is the intellectual property of Niramaya. Reproduction, distribution, or modification without written permission is prohibited. Therapeutic resources provided during sessions are for personal use only.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: Niramaya, its counsellors, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or services. Therapeutic outcomes vary and cannot be guaranteed. Total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the session in which the alleged liability arose.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Niramaya against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of services, or violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
16. Termination of Services
16.1 By Client: Written notice via email to info@niramayacounselling.com.
16.2 By Niramaya: For non-payment, abusive behaviour, failure to adhere to these Terms, or when services are clinically inappropriate.
16.3 Transition: Referral information will be provided to ensure continuity of care.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
17.1 Governing Law: Laws of India.
17.2 Jurisdiction: Courts in Ernakulam, Kerala, India.
17.3 Dispute Resolution: Parties agree to attempt informal negotiation for 30 days before pursuing legal remedies.
18. Amendments
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified via email or website. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
19. Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Niramaya.
